About this entry

Sold as the "Islander x Hemel Hawkeye 39mm Modern Flieger", a collaboration with Marvin Menke of Hemel (who had designed Islander's DPA dials) and named after the plane Grumman built on Long Island. No published Islander model shares this case and movement (the 39mm Pilot uses an NH35), so it is its own model. Seiko NH38 ("a true no-date movement"). Stainless steel case, 39 x 11.5mm, 45mm lug to lug, 20mm lugs, screw-down crown, 100m, solid screw-down caseback with the collaborators' names; grade 316L from the caseback engraving in the product photos. Flat sapphire with inner AR. Smooth fixed bezel (from the photos). Mostly sterile sector dial with military-time markers on the rehaut and blue hands; BGW9 Super-LumiNova on the hands and indices, and the ISL-204 dial is full BGW9 lume with a white rehaut. ISL-205 is a limited edition of 50 numbered pieces (series number on the caseback) with an orange rehaut. Weight 155g from the spec table (not stated what was weighed). Bracelet: 20mm H-link with negative end links, tapering to 18mm at a 3-position micro-adjust clasp (whether the micro-adjust needs a tool is not stated, so it is not recorded); spec table says "deployant buckle" and the photos show a push-button fold-over clasp. All three are tagged "Discontinued" in the store and were sold out on 2026-10-21; the prices are the last listed ones; their product pages still load, so they keep store links. Release date not stated by the brand. No independent review found.
