About the data

This is an open database of microbrand and factory-direct watches: small independent brands and Chinese factory brands. Established houses are out of scope. The goal is every model, with every spec that matters for comparing value.

How to read a dash

A dash (—) means unknown: nobody has confirmed the value yet. "No" or "None" means a source confirmed it's absent. The data column in the explorer and the "About this entry" box on each watch show how complete an entry is and what's missing.

Movement tiers

Every caliber gets an editorial tier so watches can be compared across movement makers. The tier describes the base movement, not a particular watch's regulation.

Prices

Prices are recorded in the currency the source lists and converted to USD with European Central Bank reference rates (as of 2026-10-19). "Price from" is the lowest regular price (MSRP, or the official store's street price for factory brands). Sale, pre-order and crowdfunding prices are kept but ignored for comparisons when a regular price exists.

Photos

Product photos belong to the brands that took them. Each one is credited and links back to the page it came from. If you own a photo shown here and want it credited differently or removed, open an issue on the GitHub repository.

Store links

Every watch links to where you can buy it, official store first. Some store links are affiliate links: if you buy through one, this site may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. It never changes the data or the order of results.

Corrections and additions

Every entry is a YAML file in the GitHub repository, with its sources cited. Each watch page links to its file. The data guide explains every field.
