About this entry

60% of key specs known. Missing: lug-to-lug, weight, hardening, AR coating, crown, lume.

Designed by Edward Carvalho-Monaghan: a surreal landscape in which the jumping hour shows in a window on the right and the winged sphinx gets a new head each hour; minute and seconds hands work conventionally; no date. Brand specs: "Sellita SW200 with a jump hour module designed by Johannes Jahnke for Christopher Ward" (grade not stated), domed sapphire crystal with a mineral-glass display back, 5 ATM, 316L steel case, 20mm handmade J&FJ Baker leather strap, "medium / large size (40mm)", five-year warranty. Thickness from the brand's US store page ("thickness (including glass): 11.5mm"); the UK page instead shows the brand's generic 40mm size guide (49.9mm lug-to-lug, 11.6mm, 18mm lugs), which contradicts the 20mm strap, so its lug-to-lug isn't recorded. First released in 2021 as a limited edition of 25 numbered pieces (SKU 89-D1, with an earlier version of the dial showing the hour in a gold frame); that page now says it is no longer available and shows no price or specs beyond the same SW200 jump-hour movement, but its photos show the same case. The regular edition (89-D4) followed in 2024 (store listing published May 2024).
