About this entry
89% of key specs known. Missing: thickness, hardening.
USA-assembled 40mm automatic field watch, the Miyota 9015 counterpart of the C5 Field Solar (same 40mm field-case family: the same Premium bracelet fits S5, C5 and A5 40mm); the 38mm A5 Atlas is a separate model. Vaer says the A5 Field Black first launched in 2019 (store listing created January 2020) and the Tactical in 2023; whether the earliest batches had today's specs was not checked, so no release year is recorded. Brand: 40mm, 48mm lug-to-lug, 20mm lugs, 10 ATM, 316L steel, locking screw-down crown, single-domed sapphire with AR coating (side not stated), Miyota 9015 with date, "case weight of 74 grams" (recorded as head weight). Thickness is left blank: every A5 source (product pages, ownership guides, Two Broke Watch Snobs, Man of Many) gives "10.4mm" without saying whether it includes the crystal, while Vaer's C5 Field Black page gives "10.4mm thickness without crystal / 12.2mm with crystal" for the 40mm field case, and The Watch Clicker listed 11mm (9mm wrist-to-crystal) for the Tactical in 2023. On-strap weight 86g is The Watch Clicker's figure for the Tactical on its rubber strap. Regulation: "-5/+10 sec/day" on the product pages; the February 2026 ownership guides say -5/+15 (Man of Many repeats -5/+15). Display caseback per Two Broke Watch Snobs ("screw-down case back offers a glimpse at the Miyota 9015") and the gallery photos of Field Black and Tactical. Plain fixed bezel, no scale. Lume: Tactical Field 25 layers of C3 and Field White 15 layers of Old Radium (product pages and guides agree); for Field Black the product page says "25x layers W20 SuperLuminova", the ownership guide says 15 layers of Old Radium, and Two Broke Watch Snobs called it BGW9. The Field White page's intro line says "Sized at 39mm" while its spec list and the guide say 40mm; 40mm kept. Tactical Field has a matte black PVD-coated case (the guide says the PVD "provides increased surface hardness" but gives no hardness figure; The Watch Clicker called it DLC) and green-tinted numerals; case hardening is not recorded because it applies to that variant only. Bracelet recorded is the Premium Steel Bracelet (+USD 90 on Field Black/White; the Tactical gets the black PVD Premium V2 version at +USD 100): screw links, solid custom-fit end links, quick-release pins, 20-16mm, milled clasp (brand page title), four spring-bar micro-adjust positions (Vaer FAQ); 2.7 oz (about 77g) out of the box. Every A5 ships with an FKM strap plus a second strap or a bracelet; Lined Horween leather (+USD 120) and, on Tactical, an FKM waffle strap (+USD 30) are other options, not recorded as prices. Field Black was sold out on 2026-10-21 (no restock date given); Field White and Tactical Field were in stock.
