About this entry

84% of key specs known. Missing: thickness, weight, hardening.

Second-generation R1 Oceanracer ("Oceanracer II" / V2), listed August 2026, USA-assembled, 42mm only; the first Oceanracer (2024, USD 399, 38mm and 42mm, with steel pusher guards) is not covered here, and the R1 Racing Chronograph is a separate case. Brand: 42mm, 48.5mm lug-to-lug, 20mm lugs, 10 ATM, 316L steel, locking screw-down crown, double-domed sapphire with AR coating (side not stated), fixed ceramic tachymeter bezel, brushed and polished finishing, Seiko VK63 meca-quartz, "40-month battery life", "-10/+20 sec/month timing tolerance" (Seiko's spec: +/-20 s/month). The VK63 has a date, but the R1 doesn't display one (no window in the photos; Vaer's R1 guides say the R1 has no date), so complications are set. Thickness is left blank: the spec list and Dappered say "11mm case thickness (no crystal)", while the page's sizing text says "12mm in height (13.8mm with crystal)"; the two disagree on the case height, so the total with crystal is not confirmed (the sizing text may carry over first-generation figures). The sizing text's "case weight of 70.6 grams" is the D5 39mm figure repeated across Vaer's pages and is not used. Solid caseback from the product photos; Vaer's 2024 guide describes a screw-down caseback for the first Oceanracer, not confirmed for this version. Lume per the spec list: brushed silver applied indices with "A Grade BGW9 15C Lume", dots with "C3 Lume 25C", BGW9 on the hour and minute hands. Every Oceanracer ships with a black FKM strap plus a free nylon strap or a paid upgrade. Bracelet recorded is the Premium Steel Bracelet (+USD 90): screw links, solid custom-fit end links, quick-release pins, 20-16mm, milled clasp (brand page description), four spring-bar micro-adjust positions (Vaer FAQ); Dappered notes there is no on-the-fly adjustment. The Premium Jubilee (+USD 120), Lined Horween leather (+USD 120) and a Rally leather strap (+USD 35) are other options; only the bracelet prices are recorded. Both colourways were sold out on 2026-10-21 under a "Limited Release" banner (no edition size stated); the Cream page says "Next restock expected Mid November", so the model is recorded as in production. No hardening treatment is mentioned.
