Meca-quartz chronograph: quartz-regulated timekeeping with a mechanical chronograph module (TMI describes a patented three-pointed hammer system with instant zero reset). TMI spec sheet and technical guide: 13½ lignes, Ø30.80mm (29.10mm across 3–9; casing diameter 29.00mm), 5.10mm high, 0 jewels, accuracy within ±20 s/month, SR936SW battery, battery life about 3 years (assuming 60 minutes of chronograph use per day). Layout: small seconds at 6, 60-minute chronograph counter at 9, 24-hour indicator at 3 (synchronised with the hour hand, not an independent GMT), 1/5-second centre chronograph hand, date with quick correction, time setting with stop-second. Sibling VK64 is the same layout without the small seconds. Caliber Corner says the VK63 is essentially the same as Seiko's 6T63 (not in this database).
