Vaer C5 Solar No Date 40mm

USA-assembled 40mm C5 on the Epson VS-22 solar movement with the date not shown, in the Design Navy and Korean Field colourways (the solar "V2" versions Vaer announced in August 2023; the Design Navy first appeared in 2019 and the Korean Field in 2021 as 36mm C3 battery-quartz models, and the V2 brought the first 40mm Korean Field). Kept separate from the C5 Field Solar (Epson VS-42 with date: Field Black, Tactical, Recon); the 36mm C3 versions are separate models. Brand spec lists (both pages): 40mm, 48mm lug-to-lug, 20mm lugs, 10 ATM, 316L steel, locking screw-down crown, single-domed sapphire with AR coating (side not stated), "Japan Made Epson VS-22", -10/+20 sec/month, assembled in the United States; the Design Navy page adds a 6-month reserve from 6 hours of light. Epson's VS22 has a date at 3, but neither dial shows a date window in any photo and neither spec list has the "date window" line of the dated C5 pages, so complications are hours, minutes and seconds. Thickness is not recorded: both spec lists say "11.4mm thickness", the C5 sizing paragraph on the same pages says "10.4mm in height", and Vaer's C5 Field Black page gives 10.4mm without and 12.2mm with the domed crystal for the C5 case; whether 11.4mm includes the crystal is not stated. The sizing paragraph (with its "case weight of 64 grams") is repeated word for word from the VS-42 C5 pages, so no weight is recorded for this version. Lume: Design Navy has 15 layers of C3 on the dial (green-tinted numerals) and BGW9 on the hour and minute hands, with an unlumed red seconds hand (Vaer lume rating 9/10); Korean Field has 15 layers of Old Radium on the dial and all three hands (6/10). Korean Field's dial is a homage to Allied service watches of the Korean War. Screw-down, gasket-sealed caseback per Vaer's C-Series ownership guide; solid caseback in the photos (Vaer logo on the Design Navy; a deep-etched Korean peninsula with "Never Forgotten / Korean War" on the Korean Field). Plain fixed bezel (photos). Bracelet recorded is the Premium Steel Bracelet (+USD 90; "S5 / C5 / A5 / A12 / RS1 40mm" fitment): oyster-inspired flat three-piece links, removable screw links, custom-fit end links, quick-release pins, 20-16mm, milled clasp (bracelet page title), four micro-adjust positions at the clasp (Vaer FAQ). The watch pages' generic straps blurb ("friction fit pins... tapers to 18mm") describes Vaer's older Standard bracelet. A Premium Jubilee bracelet (+USD 120) is also offered. Some gallery photos show the 36mm C3 beside the C5. No independent review was found. No hardening treatment is mentioned. Both were in stock on 2026-10-21 (the Design Navy with navy Horween leather was sold out).
