About this entry

67% of key specs known. Missing: weight, hardening, crown, lume, bracelet offered.

The original Brunswick Midas: the 38mm Brunswick cushion case machined from marine-grade phosphor bronze, hand-polished and plated in Fears' "Dual-Gold" (18ct rose gold, then 9ct yellow gold), with a solid steel caseback with a spun finish and the hand-wound ETA 7001 (Fears' "Top-grade", stippled and Dual-Gold plated; hours, minutes and small seconds at 6). A separate model from the steel Brunswicks because of the case material; Fears made at most ten a year across the two dials. Spec tab: 38 x 38mm, 42mm lug-to-lug, 20mm lugs, 11.8mm to the top of the domed sapphire (AR coated inside and outside), 50m. The spec tab's glass line says "sapphire crystal front and back", but the case line, the description and Worn & Wound all give a solid caseback, which is recorded. Worn & Wound covered the Brilliant Silver (hand-brushed rhodium dial) in September 2020 at £4,250 including VAT, which matches the £3,541.67 ex-VAT price in Fears' store data; the Polar White has a white lacquer dial. Both pages are archived listings with no stock on 2026-10-25, and Fears has since made the Midas II with a 22ct gold-plated case, so the model is recorded as discontinued. Prices are the ex-VAT prices in Fears' store data.
