About this entry

68% of key specs known. Missing: weight, hardening, crown, lume, end links, clasp micro-adjust.

The steel 38mm Brunswick cushion case with the hand-wound ETA 7001 (Fears' "TOP-grade", hours, minutes and small seconds at 6). Fears names it simply "Brunswick 38"; the same case with the La Joux-Perret D100 is the separate model Brunswick 38 (LJP D100), and colourways and editions with the ETA 7001 are variants here. Spec tab (same as the D100 watch): 38 x 38mm, 42mm lug-to-lug, 20mm lugs, 100m, screw-down bezel and caseback, 11.84mm to the top of the domed sapphire with the solid caseback and 11.69mm with the optional exhibition caseback. The crown is not described as screw-down. Optional 5-link steel bracelet with screwed links, butterfly clasp and quick-release spring bars. On 2026-10-25 the Polar White was on sale; the Copper Salmon had been discontinued (a few pieces left, strap only in the store data), and the Mallard Green Boutique Edition (a Fears Boutique and Owners' Club exclusive, listed twice with the same references, in 2023 and 2024) was sold out and discontinued. Prices are the ex-VAT prices in Fears' store data, also shown as "Ex. Vat" on product pages that still show a price (UK buyers pay 20% VAT on top: the Polar White is £2,950 on the strap). Midas II (listed July 2024): the same steel case and ETA 7001 with the same spec tab (11.84mm closed / 11.69mm open, 100m), the case plated in 22ct yellow gold in the UK (the caseback stays unplated steel), a frosted champagne dial with an 18ct gold galvanic coating, black-gold numerals and blue PVD hands; supplied with a Fears Blue Barenia strap and a Chalk Blue Alcantara strap, both with gold-plated buckles. Because the plating is a finish on a steel case it is a variant here, unlike the original Brunswick 38 Midas, whose case is phosphor bronze. Its page says it has been discontinued (no stock on 2026-10-25). James Porter & Son Limited Edition (listed June 2023): 25 pieces made for the Glasgow retailer James Porter & Son and sold through it, with a hand-brushed gunmetal grey dial signed James Porter & Son, rhodium-coated numerals and hands, a solid caseback and a Pewter Grey Barenia strap; the summary gives 38mm, 20mm lugs, the ETA 7001 and 100m, and the page has no spec tab. Fears' page says a final few pieces may remain at James Porter & Son; Fears' own listing showed no stock on 2026-10-25, and the retailer's page served a bot check, so it isn't listed as a store.
