About this entry

73% of key specs known. Missing: weight, hardening, crown, bracelet offered.

Ti-Damascus version of the ZX chronograph (Zelos colourway ZX-7), sold only with the Swiss Valjoux 7750: Zelos has no Mechaquartz ZX-7 listing, and The Time Bum says no Mechaquartz Damascus version exists. The titanium and bronze ZX models are separate files. Zelos's first chronograph series, styled after the X-15 rocket plane, launched on Kickstarter in January 2018 (aBlogtoWatch names the ZX-7 and calls Ti-Damascus quantities "extremely limited") and listed on zeloswatches.com in February 2018. Zelos calls it the first watch case made from Ti-Damascus: two titanium alloys forged together, machined, then heated to about 400 °C to bring out the colours, so the pattern and colours vary from case to case; the alloy grades are not stated. Sold out (The Time Bum, October 2018: $1,999, "may yet produce a few more") and now in Zelos's Discontinued Models collection; no edition size is stated. The rest of the listing is the series' shared text ("CUSN8 Marine Bronze or Titanium Case - Mirror polished edges and Brushed Sides"), so the brushed and polished finish is not recorded for this case. Zelos: "Swiss ETA 7750 Elabore Grade". No day or date window on the dial (photos): 30-minute counter at 12, small seconds at 9, 12-hour counter at 6, tachymeter on the flange. Glossy black ceramic bezel per The Time Bum and aBlogtoWatch ("Certain models – like the ZX-7 pictured above – also feature a ceramic bezel"); Zelos lists "Zirconium Oxide 1500 Vickers hardness" ceramic bezels on "selected models". The crown and pushers are black in Zelos's main photos (finish not stated). The Time Bum describes a decorated 7750 with a custom "turbofan" rotor seen through the sapphire caseback, a signed, lumed "Nozzle" crown, and a black "reverse panda" dial with recessed white subdials. Thickness is Zelos's "16mm Height" (not stated whether it includes the domed crystal). Zelos gives one set of dimensions for the whole series and no lug width; 22mm is SeriousWatches's figure for both the titanium and the bronze ZX case. Two-layer sandwich dial with BGW9 lume; Zelos's lume photo of the white-subdial versions, shown in a Ti-Damascus case, has fully lumed subdials. Sold on a Horween leather strap (one styled photo shows a grey canvas-style strap the listing doesn't mention); Zelos's titanium ZX bracelet was sold separately, so the bracelet fields are left blank. Crown screw-down, caseback attachment and weight not stated. The price is the store's default "sg" option on the sold-out listing; the listing also has an "hk" option (a country-pricing app, labelled "mlveda_country") at $2,999, not recorded.
