About this entry

73% of key specs known. Missing: weight, hardening, crown, bracelet offered.

CuSn8 bronze version of the ZX chronograph with the Swiss Valjoux 7750 (the Seiko VK67 meca-quartz version and the titanium versions are separate models). Zelos's first chronograph series, styled after the X-15 rocket plane, launched on Kickstarter in January 2018 and listed on zeloswatches.com in February 2018; every ZX product is now sold out and in Zelos's Discontinued Models collection. Zelos numbers the colourways (ZX-1 to ZX-3 titanium, ZX-4 to ZX-6 bronze, ZX-6 being the bronze Meteorite); the product text is shared by the whole series ("CUSN8 Marine Bronze or Titanium Case"), so ZX-4 and ZX-5 are identified as bronze from the photos (the ZX-4 photo files are named "BronzeBlack"). Zelos: "Swiss ETA 7750 Elabore Grade". No day or date window on the dial (photos; SeriousWatches lists "Date: No" for the bronze ZX-6): 30-minute counter at 12, small seconds at 9, 12-hour counter at 6, tachymeter on the flange. The Time Bum, reviewing the Ti-Damascus ZX-7, describes a decorated 7750 with a custom "turbofan" rotor seen through the sapphire caseback, and a signed, lumed "Nozzle" crown. Thickness is Zelos's "16mm Height" (not stated whether it includes the domed crystal). Lug width and a fixed CuSn8 bronze bezel per SeriousWatches's ZX-6 table; the ZX-4 and ZX-5 photos show the same bronze bezel. Two-layer sandwich dial with BGW9 lume; Zelos's lume photo for the white-subdial versions (also on the ZX-5 listing) shows fully lumed subdials, while its generic bronze lume shot shows unlumed dark subdials. Sold on a Horween leather strap; Zelos's separately sold ZX bracelet is titanium, so the bracelet fields are left blank. Crown screw-down, caseback material and attachment, and weight not stated. Prices are the store's default "sg" option on the sold-out listings; each listing also has an "hk" option (a country-pricing app, labelled "mlveda_country") at $1,799 (ZX-6 Meteorite $1,999), not recorded. Launch pricing was lower: Kickstarter $379 to $2,087 across the series (aBlogtoWatch), and The Time Bum (October 2018) quotes $829 for a titanium or bronze automatic. The ZX-6 Meteorite is bronze per SeriousWatches; The Time Bum quotes $1,099 for an automatic with a meteorite dial.
