Meca-quartz chronograph: quartz-regulated timekeeping with a mechanical chronograph module (the parts catalogue lists the hammer and hammer operating lever of TMI's VK chronographs). TMI technical guide and parts catalogue (Cal. VK83A, specification Version-01): Ø30.80mm (29.10mm across 3-9), casing diameter Ø29.00mm, 5.10mm high, 0 jewels; hour and minute hands, date with quick correction, small seconds at 6, 1/5-second centre chronograph hand, 20-minute chronograph counter at 9 and 24-hour indicator at 3; two step motors, electronic circuit reset switch, time setting with stop-second; accuracy within ±20 s/month at normal temperature, SR936SW battery, battery life about 3 years (assuming 60 minutes of chronograph use per day), antimagnetic to 1,600 A/m. The same dimensions and layout as the VK63A except for the 20-minute counter (the VK63 has a 60-minute one); Caliber Corner says it shares the VK63/VK67 base, so it is grouped with the VK6x family. TMI's current VK series page (2026-10-30) lists the VK61, VK63, VK64, VK67, VK68 and VK73 but not the VK83, and TMI's own spec-sheet URL for it returns 404; the technical guide used here is TMI's document as hosted by the German parts supplier Boley.
