About this entry

87% of key specs known. Missing: hardening, crown.

Reintroduction of the Smiths W10 issued to the British forces between 1967 and 1970, built from scratch in 36mm only, with a sapphire crystal and drilled lugs. Product page: 316L brushed steel, 36mm, 46.8mm lug-to-lug, 11.1mm to the top of the crystal, 18mm drilled lugs with shoulderless spring bars, soft-iron dial and full anti-magnetic cage (20,000 A/m), 100m, 51g head only, screw back; sapphire 31.5mm across, 1.5mm thick and 3.6mm high with AR on the underside (the Air Ministry page calls the same crystal a box crystal; shape not recorded here); semi-matte black dial with white printed numerals and Super-LumiNova C3 hour markers, lumed polished hands, no date. The spec lists the movement as "Selitta SW210-1, Hand Winding" and that is recorded (shown without date, so complications omit the SW210-1's date). Conflicting evidence: the PRS-29AM page says the 2025 issue of both PRS-29 models uses the ETA 2801, and this page's photos include the same ETA 2801 movement shot; the two calibers are equivalent hand-wound 11½-ligne movements. NATO stock number 6645-99-515-2365. Case and strap made in Hong Kong, movement Swiss. Sold out on 2026-10-25, "Next Availability - Spring 2027 (Date TBC)".
