About this entry
84% of key specs known. Missing: thickness, weight, hardening.
Hong Kong-assembled quartz version of Vaer's "Dirty Dozen" military field watch (after the Swiss A12 of 2019 and the USA-assembled Ameriquartz C3/C5 of 2024), on the S5 40mm platform: black dial with Arabic numerals and small seconds at 6, no date. Store listing created 16 October 2025 ("the new quartz-powered version"). Brand (product page): 40mm, 48mm lug-to-lug, 20mm lugs, 10 ATM, 316L steel, locking screw-down crown, flat sapphire with AR coating (side not stated), Miyota 1L45 (consistent with the small-seconds dial), 40-month battery life, -10/+20 sec/month. The product page also says "10.4mm" thickness and a "case weight of 64 grams", the figures Vaer gives for the C5 40mm case (where 10.4mm is without crystal) and not the 9.4mm/54g of the other S5s, so neither is recorded. The page's "Matte black PVD coating" and "Black matte dial (tan)" lines are template errors (the case is plain steel in the photos). Vaer's Dirty Dozen landing page shows the S5 with a different spec block (Ameriquartz 70200A, USA assembly, single domed sapphire, 15 layers BGW9 plus 15 layers Old Radium), which matches the USA C5 Dirty Dozen, so it is not used. Lume: the product page says 25 layers of Old Radium on dial and hands, but Vaer's night photo shows blue-glowing numerals, so the grade is not recorded. Solid screw-down caseback engraved "W.W.W." with an S5 serial and the NATO phonetic alphabet (gallery photo). Bracelet recorded is the Premium Steel Bracelet (+USD 90): screw links, solid custom-fit end links, quick-release pins, 20-16mm, milled clasp with four spring-bar micro-adjust positions (Vaer bracelet page and FAQ). No independent review was found. No hardening treatment is mentioned. In stock on 2026-10-21.
