Three-hand, no-date solar quartz that uses a ring-shaped solar cell instead of a cell behind the dial, so it can be used with opaque metal dials (Islander describes the collector as attached to the inside of the case, above the dial). Factory spec sheet: size Φ36.2mm, height 3.78mm (5.98mm including the movement holder), accuracy ±20 s/month, running time 4 months on a full charge, battery consumption minimised by pulling out the stem; stem 065-371. Miyota's instruction manual names the rechargeable cell as MT621 and shows two crown positions (normal and time-setting). Islander adds that the seconds hand moves in 2-second steps when the charge is low. Jewel count, hacking and country of manufacture are not stated by Miyota. Miyota's product page marks the 2170 as discontinued (checked 2026-10-21). Tier "entry" per the guide's basic Miyota quartz row.
