Hand-wound 16½-ligne caliber descended from the Unitas 6497 pocket-watch movement. It is the Lépine (open-face) layout of the Unitas pair: the small seconds sit in line with the crown, at 9 o'clock in a wristwatch, where the 6498-1 (savonnette/hunter layout) has them at 6. Otherwise the two share their dimensions and parts. Caliber Corner's 6497-1 listing: 16½ lignes, Ø36.6mm, 4.5mm high, 17 jewels, lift angle 44°, power reserve 46h, no hacking, Incabloc or Novodiac shock protection; its spec table gives "18,800 vph" while its text says 18,000, and ETA's technical communication for the twin 6498-1 gives 18,000 A/h, so 18,000 is recorded (brands that copy the table, Timefactors among them, quote 18,800). Brands quote power reserves from 44h to 53h; the 6497-2 is the upgraded version. No ETA grade tolerances were found, so no grades are recorded.
