About this entry

74% of key specs known. Missing: thickness, weight, crown, bracelet links, clasp micro-adjust.

Zelos's slim automatic chronograph, styled after the F-104 Starfighter and listed on 17 December 2021 in 316L steel: Midnight Blue, Frost ($1,799), Meteorite, Aventurine and the Spitfire limited edition of 50 ($1,999). The 2023 ZircTi limited editions are a separate model. All five are sold out but still listed in Zelos's Starfighter Chronograph collection (not Discontinued Models) with no restock since, so recorded as limited (no edition size for the regular colourways). The Spitfire's dial is cut from the aluminium wing panel of a Mark IX Spitfire, removed during restoration and lightly sanded, keeping its marks and scratches. Spec list: 41mm, 48mm lug to lug, "11mm without crystal" (total thickness not stated, so not recorded), 22mm lugs, 50m, 1200HV hardened coating on case and bracelet, box sapphire with inner AR coating, C3 X1 and BGW9 lume, "Bezel: Ceramic or SS depending on the model" (per colourway from Zelos's text, the Spitfire's from its photo), steel bracelet with screw links, quick adjust clasp (type not described) and quick-release spring bars, tapering 22mm to 18mm. Movement: "ETA 2894 'Bi-compax' Elabore grade" with a custom PVD 'Turbine' rotor seen through a sapphire caseback, and a colour-matched date wheel; the photos show running seconds at 3, a 30-minute counter at 9 and the date at 6, without the 2894-2's 12-hour counter. SeriousWatches confirms the 1200HV coating, solid end links, sapphire display caseback, date and tachymeter bezel (ceramic, or steel on the Meteorite). Lume per the photos also covers the bezel scale on the ceramic versions; whether the bezel is fixed, crown type and weight are not stated. No strap listed.
