About this entry

60% of key specs known. Missing: movement, lug-to-lug, weight, hardening, crown, lume.

The small-seconds version of the Archival 1930 (separate model: different movement), made for Fears' 175th anniversary in 2021. Powered by a new-old-stock hand-wound ZentRa 185 / ETA 717 from around 1935 (15 jewels, 18,000 vph, 38-hour power reserve per Fears), reconditioned in the UK with an upgraded mainspring; it has no modern shock protection and Fears expects ±30 s/day. There is no movement file for this vintage caliber (no factory spec sheet could be found), so only the movement type is recorded. Case 40 x 22mm: the 22mm width is recorded as the diameter; the 40mm length is not recorded as lug-to-lug because Fears doesn't say it is measured tip to tip. 9.28mm deep, 0.74mm more than the two-hander. Each watch is engraved with one of the years 1977-2015, when the company was dormant: 39 pieces, which Fratello confirms (175 Archival 1930s in all, 136 of them two-handers). Sold out; the page still loads. The price is the ex-VAT price in Fears' store data (UK buyers pay 20% VAT on top, £3,950, the launch price Fratello gives).
