Vortic's American Artisan Series in the 45mm case, its main current size (listed since April 2023). Every piece is unique: Vortic restores an antique American pocket-watch movement (kept with its original dial and hands; Vortic dates them 1880s-1950s) and converts it into a wristwatch in a case it makes in Fort Collins, Colorado, so the specific watch, movement and price vary from piece to piece. Vortic names each series after the city where, or near where, the movement's maker was based. Variants are the series sold in this size. Each is priced from the cheapest piece of that series in 45mm for sale on 2026-10-24, or, when none was for sale, from the most recently listed sold piece, citing that piece's page. On that date the store listed 382 pieces in 45mm; 15 were for sale ($4,500-$5,100) and the rest are sold pieces Vortic keeps listed. Series (movement maker, as Vortic gives it), pieces listed, price range and the piece the price comes from: Springfield (Illinois Watch Company, Springfield, Illinois) 175, $2,300-$6,500, priced from a piece for sale (11 for sale at $4,500-$5,100); Chicago (Elgin Watch Company) 73, $2,400-$5,200, priced from the one piece for sale; Lancaster (Hamilton Watch Company, Lancaster, Pennsylvania) 67, $3,000-$6,800, priced from a piece for sale (3 for sale at $4,600-$4,900); Boston (Waltham Watch Company) 42, $2,500-$6,200, latest sold piece (listed 2026); Cleveland (Ball Watch Company, whose movements Vortic says were made by Hamilton and Waltham) 7, $4,900-$6,600, latest sold piece (2025); Burlington (Burlington Watch Company, whose watches Vortic says were mostly made by Illinois) 6, $3,500-$4,300, latest sold piece (2024); Canton (Hampden Watch Company, later Dueber-Hampden, Canton, Ohio) 6, $1,500-$4,400, latest sold piece (2025); Rockford (Rockford Watch Company) 5, $3,500-$5,500, latest sold piece (2025); Indiana (South Bend Watch Company) 1, $2,800, the only piece (sold, 2023). The count includes The Springfield 160, whose title omits the size but whose spec table says 45mm. Status: Vortic's pages don't list the case sizes on offer (its watch builder is "taking a break" and the American Artisan Series page names no sizes), but 45mm pieces were for sale and listed as recently as October 2026, so it is recorded as in production. Movement: manual-wind 12-size pocket-watch movements; maker, grade, jewel count (17, 19 or 21) and year differ by piece, so no caliber is recorded. Vortic's spec tables give about 36 hours' power reserve. Specs recorded are those every 45mm spec table sampled agrees on (18 pieces, 2023-2026): 1 ATM water resistance, sapphire crystals front and back (display caseback), and 22mm lug width (nine tables give it; five others list a 22mm strap). Case material and finish vary by piece (the current "Version 3" case in machined, sandblasted or tumbled stainless steel, one table saying 316L; titanium; bronze; DLC-coated steel; mixed-metal bezels), so they are left blank. Crown position varies: at 12 o'clock, where it was on the pocket watch, or at 3 on pieces whose movement has been turned. The nine tables that give dimensions all say 12mm thick and 55mm lug-to-lug, but Vortic's tables appear to reuse these figures across sizes (a 43mm piece lists the same), so they are left blank. Vortic's American Artisan Series page still describes earlier cases (3D-printed titanium) and Corning Gorilla Glass crystals; the current product spec tables say sapphire, which is recorded.
