Historic British name revived as a small independent: Claude Lyons started his first watch company in 1912 and founded Vertex Watches Ltd (London and La Chaux-de-Fonds) in 1916; it supplied the WWII "Dirty Dozen" military watches and closed in 1972. His great-grandson Don Cochrane reincorporated the company in 2016 and relaunched it in London with the M100 tribute (Europa Star: the M100 series is produced in Switzerland). The store currently lists the M100A/M100AC, M60 AquaLion divers, MP45 M and M36 at about GBP 2,150-3,480 including VAT. Product pages show the price "inc. VAT" with the ex-VAT amount in brackets; the store's Shopify data carries the ex-VAT amount (GBP 1,791.67-2,900), which is what is recorded (price_vat: excluded). Sold through its own Shopify store (London, GBP). `founded` is the year the brand itself gives ("since 1912").
